Transfer Calls, Service in Germany!

Well Goedemorgen everyone! Another week gone in the city of Hengelo! This week was Transfer calls, which came to us at 2 in the morning.. I was not a happy Elder Morey.. but we found out that Elder Prickett is going to the city of Rosendaal and I am getting Elder Miera! He is a younger missionary, so this will be an interesting next transfer here in Hengelo!

This week so far was a struggle for us.. but we were happy with what we accomplished. We had the chance to do a lot of service this week, which was really nice. We didn't get to teach that much this week and our investigators have been busy with a lot of things.. so we only got to meet with one of them this week. For the rest of the time we got to go and knock doors!

So on Friday we had the opportunity to go and do service for a members Mom in Germany! She is a non member and we got permission from President to go and help her with what she needed, so Elder Oliphant and I had to finish/repair some chicken coops! Elders Prickett and O'Loughlin had to repair some concrete damage! We ate some pretty dang delicous German food, and they give you a lot of it! So I was literally about to explode! but it was amazing!

Prickett and I had the chance to attend a boy's baptism in our ward this Sunday. We were there mainly to represent as the Elders and also to make sure the baptismal font was full and warm haha! But we had the chance actually to be the witnesses and also help in confirming him a member of the church, we had no idea we would be involved that much. It was a cool experience to be involved in such a thing!

This week was a good one and hopefully we will have another good one, just got to keep going! "No matter what, continue to have Faith in God and his promises, and do what is right all the time, regardless of who knows." Love you all! have a great week! Tot Ziens!

Summer Rain in Hengelo..

Well Goedemiddag everyone! This week was a really good one for us in Hengelo, we had the chance to teach our baptismal date and a couple of other lessons! But besides that the weather her in the Netherlands has been really nice feeling weather, but the rain is just super annoying!

I am going to talk about our baptismal date, Sandra. And also I want to talk about how big of a blessing the Plan of Salvation is for the all of us! Well first off about the lesson with Sandra, we were teaching the Plan of Salvation and getting to know how she felt about what we were teaching her, and she went on to say how she doesn't feel home on Earth, and that she is barely getting to know how she can return to live with her Heavenly Father again. She got a little emotional during our lesson and you could tell that she was really happy to get to know this Plan. After the lesson was done, which it was one of the greatest Plan Of Salvation lessons I have ever taught. She texted us about two hours later and thanked us for the lesson she had learned and how grateful she is to now know where we come from and where we are going!

The blessings of the Plan Of Salvation is an outstanding knowledge. I am forever grateful to know of its truthfulness, to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me back with him again!

We had Zone Training this week and it was really good, we had the chance to talk about an Effective Study and also about where the mission wants to be and what goals we want to achieve for this next year! It is super cool to see the work continue to go forward in this mission!

Elder Prickett and I are doing well, we are definitely having fun and working at the same time! Transfer week is this next week so we will see what goes down! I hope you all have a great week and I will talk to you soon! Love you all! Tot Ziens!

Digging Holes Builds Character!

Well Goedemiddag everyone!! Another week done in Hengelo! Elder Prickett and I had a bit of a rough week in Hengelo. We were able to teach two member presents this week, which was nice, but we had a lot of our appointments fall through and also our investigator didn't show up to church yesterday, so that was a little upsetting, but just gotta keep trying!

So the reason why my email is entitled "Digging holes, builds character!" is because Elder Prickett and I believe that there is a saying in missionary life, Knocking doors, builds character! Because Elder Prickett and I knocked A LOT of doors this week. With little to no success. Which happens here and there, but we were a little down about it.

But honestly it happens, we have those weeks here and there. But we just gotta keep trying and moving forward! As long as we do that, The lord will bless us with someone that will just have a little interest and will listen, they may not accept it, but what the most important thing to know is that as long as we work our best, it means everything to know that someone heard the gospel today!

I hope you all had a good week and have a great one this week, Prickett and I will try to do the same!

Love you all! Tot ziens!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Goedemorgen everyone!! Another week spent in Hengelo! Also shout out to all the Mother's! I am grateful for all of those that have shaped who I am, so thank you and love you all!! This week in Hengelo we spent a couple of days doing service for some members, gotta love moving houses!!

Well this week we got some rather upsetting news from one of our investigators.. She was on Baptismal date for a while, and we had been teaching her for a while. She also was really positive! But we got to the lesson of Tithing and she didn't really understand why she needed to follow that Law.. So the next day she unfortunately sent a text to us saying that she was done investigating.. It is rather upsetting to receive those texts.. But what Elder Prickett and I had felt was that she just wasn't ready now. She may be one day and that is all that matters is that we taught her about the Gospel and planted a seed. Hopefully one day that seed will grow one day!

So I learned something this past week about Charity, and how powerful of a Christlike attribute it is! Through doing a lot of service this week, I was wondering what sort of impact we were making on those we were serving. Charity and Love for others can honestly change lives and create amazing bonds with members or even just a random person!

Also this week we were able to set another baptismal date, I was on Exchanges in Deventer at the time, but Elder Le Duc and Elder Prickett had a great lesson with our investigator Sandra and she also came to church yesterday and had a great time, so that is always nice to hear! Another solid week in Hengelo!  I hope you all have a great rest of your week and I will talk to you all soon!

Love you guys! Tot Ziens!

Maverick and Goose!!!

Goedemorgen everyone!! Well I am alive and well here in Hengelo, the first week here went really great and the Transfer went really smoothly! I am with Elder Prickett, one of my very good friends from the MTC! He has been in Hengelo for a while so he knows his way around the block! Well I will tell you a little about what went down this week in Hengelo!

I came into Hengelo on Tuesday and got a little settled, we don't have an apartment, we actually have a house! SO that is really nice and big! After getting told about the area and the ward and everything, Prickett told me about this lady named Carola. She is actually the only person who we have on Baptismal Date here in Hengelo. Prickett went on to tell me about that we didn't have an appointment with her this week, which I was very bummed!

Well later that night we got a text from Carola saying that she could meet on Thursday for a lesson! I was so pumped, I literally wanted to meet with her so that we could get to know her better and low and behold she texted us to schedule an appointment! That appointment went really well, we taught about the Plan of Salvation and it was a really great lesson, one thing that stuck out to me the most was Elder Prickett, Carola had some experiences and challenges with the Plan of Salvation, which Elder Prickett had some similar experiences with. She said that she felt a burden come off of her because of Elder Prickett being able to relate to her.  I think it is so amazing that the Lord calls us to where we need to be and know what to say and what to teach! The Lord prepares us and investigators!

The rest of our week we ended up doing a lot of look ups and knocking so that was really fun of course! Sunday was really nice, the Ward here isn't that big, but has some really cool members here! I am excited to work in Hengelo and see the blessings from missionary work here! I hope all of you have a great week, and shout out to all the Mothers on Mothers Day! Us missionaries love you and are truly grateful for all that you do for us!!

Love you all! Tot ziens!

(P.S. Elder Prickett and I are Maverick and Goose!)
