Missionary Pioneers!!

Well a day late, but President gave us permission to send a quick update of our week! First I would like to give a shout out to my little brother Joshua for getting his license and stealing the car from me... It was just yesterday that he was 14 years old..

Well had a solid week here in Assen, I think the best thing that happened this week is when I was on exchanges with Elder Leigh, and for the first time in Assen in my 5 weeks here someone FINALLY LET US IN!! She was a super nice lady and gave us something to drink and heard what we had to say! It was awesome! God answers our prayers, lately I feel like he has been answering my complaints, haha but in either way he still answers us and knows us!

I think everyone who is involved with missionaries have heard the recent changes in Missionary Life, we were able to watch a Missionary Broadcast and it was great! There is a new schedule that came out that is very nice and I think will help us missionaries out tremendously! and the way they do Key Indicators have changed, so it is cool to be a part of such a pioneering event!

We have a great week planned out ahead of us and are hoping to see some miracles on Exchanges! I hope you all have a great week and I will talk to you soon and hopefully I will be able to send some pictures! If not I apologize!! Love you all! Tot ziens!

Zig Zaggin..

And a Heel goedemorgen everyone!! I apologize that I could not get back to you all sooner, but it all works out in the end! Well this week was a good one, we had a lot of traveling to do because of exchanges and a cool fireside we went to! SO that is why my email is about Zig zagging around on trains!

Even though we were on trains and traveling a lot we still got to see some cool experiences this week! I would love to talk about my exchange with Elder Reaveley in the city of Zwolle! We had a super great exchange with each other! We worked super hard!! He is on his 4th transfer and is an absolute work horse!! We ended up giving out 3 book of Mormons and teaching 2 lessons to people in a dorp outside of Zwolle called Wapenveld, which if you translate into English it means "Weapon field" haha but the first lesson we taught was super cool, he was a guy from Suriname and he doesn't really know who God is, but he was really open to finding out, so we taught him about the Book of Mormon and taught him how to pray and it was a really great lesson!

We didn't see too much in Assen miracle wise, but we did have a lesson with one of our investigators and he ended up being super drunk when we got there and he ended up kissing me on the forehead, so that was new.. haha! Gotta love it! Hopefully we will be able to meet with more of our investigators that we do have and find some more on top of those ones!

I hope you all have a great week and for those of you in the snow, trench forward! and I will talk to you all next week! Love you all Tot Ziens!!

The Lord protects his missionaries!!

SO everyone I hope you all are having a great Monday so far, sorry that i have waited so long to email you. So this email is gonna be short since I don't have time at all and so much to explain, but little to tell! So I fell this week on Ice while I was riding my bike, but I am okay I am just bruised on my hip and wrist, so I will survive!

Today was a very humbling P day. An elder in our district today got hit by a car while we were having district P day. He didn't see the car coming and it just hit him.. I ran to see if he was okay and to make sure he didn't have too many injuries, I gave him a quick blessing before the EMT's took him away to the hospital and he just got released an hour ago and all he had was a dislocated shoulder. Unbelievable! The Lord Protects his missionaries.

I had a great week and I wish I could tell you more about it, but I don't have time! I love you all and will give a better explanation about my week, I may get to email on Wednesday, but not for sure yet! Talk to you soon!

It is getting cold here, so put on all your clothes...

Goedemiddag everyone!! As you can tell by the subject of my email, it is cold here.. it snowed the other day and unfortunately I did not get a picture.. but I was freezing.. So i had to go buy some winter clothes and some boots.. But besides that this week has been pretty good one! I had some really good experiences during the week! I would love to share one or two with you all!

We had the chance to do some service for a member named Theiss and what we did was we were lumberjacks the whole day, I always forget to take pictures but, we cut down trees in a park so that his parents could have wood for the winter. It was a lot of fun, but also was hard work, hauling logs, cutting the trees, it was a good workout! But it was cool experience for me to get to know Br. De jonge, he is amazing and is super funny, the branch here is amazing and has about 30 to 40 active members and they are all awesome to the missionaries!

Well first off the work in Assen is still a little slow, but we had a good week of Exchanges and of work! On my Exchange with Elder Mikkelsen, we were in Assen and he has served here before and knows everyone. So we did a couple of look ups and got soaked by the rain and hail, which hit us at very high speeds.. We ended up contacting some good potentials and hopefully they will turn into investigators! But after Dinner we went to a less active and investigators house. Their names were Gladys and Eric. Gladys is from Honduras and is a member, her husband Eric is not and is meeting with us. While we were there she began to tell me her story about after leaving Honduras and going Less Active and how her life was getting hard on her, then one day the missionaries came during a hard time in her life and gave her a blessing and she knew that the gospel makes her happy and that is what she wants for her family, she began testifying to me of how great my calling was as a missionary and how much missionaries mean to her.. I felt the Spirit super strong and tell me that I need to have a better outlook on my area and that there are people here in Assen that are prepared to hear what we have to bring them. I am grateful that The Lord works through other people to bless there lives!!!

Being a missionary is great, There are just some things that you learn and do here that you can't find anywhere else. I love this gospel and know that it is true and can make ANYONE happy! I hope you all have a great week!! Love you all!!
